Shenlong Valley in Mt. Jiuhua

When driving through the byway, you can't help admiring it with cheerful exclamations.

When seeing the road floating over a sea of clouds around the north part of the mountain, you will surelybelieve: "layer upon layer of peaks and knolls" is no longer a suitable adjective to describe the mountain.

When seeing girls laundering in the river, you will be touched tenderly by the ripples.

Still remember the ancient flagstone-paved streets? Miaoqian, Liujie, Rongcheng, and more are all placesmarked with prosperity in their long history.

Still remember the old bridges? What they carry is the convenience for the people and what they talk isthe tradition of charity inherited generation after generation.

There is a song that goes: "when the evening breeze blows on me after on you, can that be deemed as a hug?

When I walk on the path you have walked on, can that be regarded as a meeting?"

Now you many stop for a while to appreciate the profound history and the rich culture along the byway, whichmay astonish you to reverence.

On the streets of Lingyang, you may "encounter" Qu Yuan, a well-known ancient patriotic poet who lived inexile in the town for nine years. The famous poems he wrote here include "Aiying (lamentation)", "Yuanyou (longjourney)" and "Zhaohun (inviting the soul)" and he is regarded as the founder of Chinese romantic literature.

By the Qiupu River, you may be "greeted" by Xiao Tong anda little bit curious about whom he was. You will surely besurprised to know that it is this ancient young man who editedthe first collection of poems in China. In the Sui and Tangdynasties, scholars were selected according to how goodthey could write peoms at imperial examinations, ZhaomingWenxuan, the collection of poems, is undoubtedly the bestreference book for candidates. He loved Mandarin fishproduced in the river very much, so he changed the nameof his fief from Qiupu to Guichi, which means the water areaproducing mandarin fish.

When we talk about the Tang Dynasty, we have to mention LiBai, a master poet at that time who changed the name of Mt.Jiuzi into Mt. Jiuhua. This happened when he was intoxicatedwith friends enjoying the snow scene and composing poemsat Shimen Village, Tangxi.
